Crowns are No Longer Complicated

Making crowns used to be a complicated process. This process usually involves taking an impression of the tooth, sending it to a lab, and waiting while it takes up to three weeks to actually create your crown. In the meantime, you wear a temporary piece that does not look good and can break, and you need to return for a second or even a third visit!

Thank goodness the process has been updated with E4D™ technology. Preston Dental uses E4D™ technology to replace worn, chipped, or a decayed tooth with perfect tooth colored restoration. These restorations are directly bonded to the teeth, and last for years and years! The best part is that we do it in one visit while you wait, and you will leave with our permanent crown. There is no need for temporary crowns and weeks of waiting. The result is a beautiful, durable, metal-free crown or restoration. You can even enjoy your next meal normally with no worries. Call us if you have any questions, and you will be amazed with our E4D™ technology.

Have Straighter Teeth in Six Months

Think you might need braces, but don't want to suffer through months of braces as an adult? Did you know you could have a beautiful smile quickly and comfortably? Preston Dental is proud to offer Six Month Smiles as your answer. If your teeth have gaps, or are crowded and overlapped then Six Month Smiles is a good option for you. Most cases can be completed in six months or less!

The process is done by gently moving the teeth that are visible in your smile to the desired position. Six Month Smiles utilizes invisible clear braces to gently straighten and align teeth in an average time of six months. You can hardly see the clear or tooth-colored bands that are used. Not only can this be accomplished in a short time, it’s also much more comfortable than traditional braces. So you can say goodbye to the “tin grin” and have gorgeous, straight teeth in months instead of years! Not everyone is a candidate for Six Month Smiles, so call today for a complimentary consultation.

Facts About Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a serious condition that is far more common than generally understood. Apnea episodes can occur from 30 to 60 times per night. Apnea episodes are involuntary breathing pauses and cause oxygen deprivation. These breathing pauses can be accompanied by snoring, although not everyone who snores has this condition. In addition to snoring, sleep apnea can also be characterized by choking sensations. The frequent interruptions of deep, restorative sleep leads to early morning headaches, excessive daytime sleepiness, and irritability. Oxygen deprivation also puts a strain on the heart.

Snoring and obstructive sleep apnea are medical problems, so at Preston Dental, we make sure your individual situation is fully addressed by starting with an objective medical assessment. After referral from a physician, you’ll receive a thorough dental examination and we will discuss all options, advantages, limitations, and consequences. Early recognition and treatment of sleep apnea is important because it is a potentially life-threatening condition. Sleep apnea can be associated with irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, heart attack, and stroke. Get diagnosed, and get treatment today.
